Quick Facts: What do you get when you combine GURD, DISGROOVE, UNDERGOD., NEO NOIRE, EROTIC JESUS and ZLANG/ZLUT? MONOTRONS! The four band members of the newly formed Basler Band are all well-known faces with an impressive musical past spanning up to three decades. In one constellation or another, the four have already worked together before and shared the stages across Europe with greats like ICE-T, PERRY FARRELL, MANIC STREET PREACHERS, DISTURBED or even ERIC CLAPTON and BOB GELDOF. The four key figures of the Swiss rock scene decided in 2019 to join forces as MONOTRONE. The result is her first album with the simple name "1" (digital release: May 27th, 2022). A grueling process of writing the songs resulted in a collection of ten songs that take the listener on an exciting musical trip and uncompromisingly combine different sounds and styles. The album was recorded and mixed at Little Creek Studios with longtime mutual friend and former bandmate VO Pulver at the controls. Philippe Strübin's brilliant voice, combined with Thomas Baumgartner's guitar witchcraft, driven by Fran Lorkovic's creative drumming and pumped up by Franky Kalwie's strong bass, result in a fantastic and very versatile rock album. The kaleidoscope of grooves and styles ranges from hard rock, metal and grunge to pop, funk and even disco elements. Her second single «Skin» (incl. video clip) will be released on FRI May 13, 2022, her first full album will follow on FRI May 27, 2022 worldwide as a download/stream. Seeing these four musicians live and in action together as MONOTRONE should be one of the events of this year not to be missed!
